🧪 MEET THE LAB STAFF

Every questionable experiment needs a qualified team.

Qualified = still under investigation.

MARCY — CHIEF LAB RAT IN CHARGE
Founder • Guinea Pig • Research Rabbit-Hole Specialist

The human behind The Wellness Lab Project. I test the products, protocols and wellness trends, dig into the science, document what happens—and occasionally learn things the hard way.

I'm not a doctor, nutritionist or wellness guru—and I don't pretend to be one. My background is actually very different.

I spent nearly 24 years in law enforcement. My career trained me to investigate, ask better questions, separate evidence from assumptions, assess risk and—perhaps most importantly—not believe something simply because someone says it's true.

Turns out, those skills are surprisingly useful in the wellness world.

WHY I STARTED THE LAB

As I grew into my 30’s, I became increasingly interested in what I could do to feel better, stay strong, protect my health and keep doing the things I love for as long as possible.

And I went down the rabbit hole.

Supplements. Peptides. Wearables. Recovery devices. Nutrition. Fasting. Hormones. Sleep. Movement. Longevity protocols. Things backed by fascinating research—and things backed mostly by fascinating marketing.

The deeper I went, the more I realized how difficult it is for a normal person to answer a very simple question:

Does this stuff actually work?

Because wellness has become incredibly noisy.

One person says something will change your life. Another says it's useless. A company points to “science.” An influencer swears by it. A study sounds impressive until you actually look at what was studied.

And meanwhile, we're all standing there wondering whether we should spend $19.99 or $1,999 finding out for ourselves. As I moved through my 40s and into my 50s, that curiosity only grew. Somewhere along the way, I became an accidental biohacker.

So I decided to turn my curiosity into a shared experiment.

WELCOME TO THE WELLNESS LAB PROJECT

I try things I'm genuinely interested in. I document my experience. Then I dig into the research to understand what the science actually says—including when it doesn't agree with my experience.

Some things Make the Lab.

Some produce Mixed Results.

And some very definitely Don't Make the Lab.

I'm not here to tell you what you should do with your body. I'm here to show you what I tried, what happened, what the evidence says, what it cost, and what I learned—so you have better information to make your own decisions.

And if something turns out to be ridiculous?

We'll probably have some fun with that too. 🧪🐀

THE LAB RAT — DIRECTOR OF RESEARCH 🐀
Science • Skepticism • General Supervision

Glasses on. Flask ready. Highly suspicious of extraordinary claims and products with 47 ingredients.

Miti — Senior Research Assistant • Recovery & Resilience Division 🐾

Miti is our mature, gentle mamabear soul—and unquestionably the senior member of the canine research team.

After tearing her CCL, she became part of one of Mom’s most important wellness projects: supporting her recovery and helping her work her way back to an active, happy life. Her experience sparked plenty of curiosity around mobility, recovery, nutrition and keeping our pets strong as they age.

Miti also has a much more important job outside the Lab. She performs special duties as a service dog, which means keeping her healthy, strong and feeling her best isn't just something we care about—it's essential to the work she does.

Research specialties:
Recovery • Mobility • Longevity • Canine nutrition • Human-animal connection

Lab personality:
Calm. Gentle. Wise. Intuitive.

Basically, the only member of this operation who takes her job SUPER seriously.

Moose — Junior Research Assistant • Experimental Chaos Division 😂

Moose is the puppy. More specifically, he's a wrecking-ball Rottweiler with very big feelings, enormous enthusiasm and absolutely no understanding of the phrase controlled environment.

His primary contributions to the Lab include testing the structural integrity of household objects, ensuring nobody sits still for too long and volunteering immediately for any research remotely related to food.

Research specialties:
Growth • Movement • Nutrition • Play • Unplanned durability testing

Lab personality:
Enthusiastic. Emotional. Curious. Destructive.

Current performance review:
Potential: exceptional.
Impulse control: under investigation. 😂

🥩 THE CANINE NUTRITION DEPARTMENT

Both Research Assistants eat a human-grade raw-food diet that I carefully manage because nutrition is every bit as important to me for them as it is for the humans in our house.

That means you'll occasionally see canine wellness make its way into the Lab too—from whole-food nutrition and organ meats to bone broth, mobility, recovery and the science of helping our dogs live long, healthy lives.

And yes...

The Research Assistants are extremely supportive of this particular area of study.
